Three things NOT to take with you into the New Year

Hello everyone and welcome back to the blog! I'm so happy you've decided to join me today. Alright just a few announcements. It's probably your first time here if you're reading this blog today. Hi, there's a few blogs already up so far including one where I introduce myself and state my private policies. Please take a look around and if you like what you see consider subscribing or even sharing with your friends/loved ones.

I hate long intros and that was long enough so let's dive in today's blog.

Is now the best time to publish a blog like this considering that the New Year is only one day away? No, but better late than never.

The three things I'm going to mention today won't be the easiest to eliminate but I encourage you to create a plan that will help when it comes to tackling these things. ( Hint: It will be really beneficial if God is involved in your plans)

# 1 - Laziness

I'm not just talking about the lack of being productive when it comes to chores or maybe work blah blah. I'm focusing on spiritual laziness. Now I know that most of you if not all of you have a busy life and you're almost always in a hurry but this is where discipline comes in. Don't settle for reading a chapter of your bible everyday, don't settle for praying a two second prayer, don't settle for being slothful. Discipline yourself to wake up every morning and spend time in prayer. Put on the Amor of God DAILY. Consider fasting, etc...Don't just take care of your body physically but Spiritually as well.

# 2 - Comparison

You've probably already heard that comparison is a thief of joy and you probably rolled your eyes (me too, I feel ya) but its true! Not only does comparison create discontentment but it produces a lack thankfulness and increases more complaining. It makes you focus on what you could have that you forget what you do have.

# 3 - Negative thoughts/words

Your tongue is powerful. It can either speak death or life. It can either build others up or tear them down. In the year to come speak life, encourages others, think before you speak.

So what's the plan?

Where do I start? How do I ensure that I don't entertain these behaviors?

Well like I said with # 1, discipline. You won't magically get rid of these within a day. You need to train yourself and ask the Lord to help you. Seek Him for guidance. He'll help you.

In conclusion...

I hope you were able to take away something from this article. Thank you for sticking it out with me today. I love each and every one of you but most importantly Jesus loves you. Until next time, take care.

Bible verse:

Proverbs 18:21 - Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
