You Should add These to Your Cleaning Schedule if You haven't already

Hello everyone, I'm so happy you're here! If your new, welcome and if you're returning, welcome back. Today is going to be quick blog about 5 places we often forget to clean.

Cleaning for most of us is a love/hate relationship. I have my moments where I love to clean and sometimes the last thing I want to do is clean. I think we all can agree that overall, we love a clean environment/space but clean doesn't only mean what is in the open or the rooms guests are in. I'm not here to be judgmental, I'm just here to remind you that you should probably tackle:

# 1 - Under your furniture

I'm just going to throw myself under the bus right now. You know when someone invites themselves over without giving you a heads up and you get caught off guard? Yeah me too. I hate when then happens, more importantly, I hate when I allow things like these to happen instead of preparing for them, but it happens. So in a hurry to make the place look presentable I stuff things under the furniture. Like half of pair of shoes under the sofa. Random paperwork under my bed...I'm not proud of it, but it happens and I tend to forget about those items until I need them.

# 2 - Behind your laundry equipments (aka washer and dryer)

At this point, this whole article is going to be me throwing myself under the bus. I've waited two even three years before I would do a thorough deep clean in my laundry room. Guys...it's gross if you would see the build up behind my washer and dryer you would simply run because I did that myself. Every few months take a couple of hours to clean out the gunk from behind (and under) your washer and dryer. (Stay tuned until the end of the blog to see how often I do these chores).

# 3 - The door knobs/ light switches.

These surfaces are one of the most nasty surfaces in our homes. Think about it, people grabbing the door knobs to come and out of your home, many fingers are turning those light switches off and on, etc...Long story short, these surfaces are one of germs and bacteria best friends. That's why every few days it's important to take 15-20 minutes and disinfect these areas. We can't 100% eliminate the germs but we can lessen amount.

# 4 - The vents

I overlooked this for a very long time. Vents are where the air conditioning and/or heat come out. With the air circulating so frequently, it's very easy for dust to get trapped in those areas. Since I'm not an expert with these things I like to turn off the air, get a damp rag, and just wipe in between each space. Is it the best way to clean the vents? No, but it's something.

# 5 - Your phone/ electronics.

Okay this kinda has nothing to really do with the home but like the door knobs and light switches, think about it. This time it's worse. Think about those greasy fingers touching your screens. Think about your phone falling in a public area flat on its face. Think about even placing your devices on different surfaces. Did I gross you out yet? Me too.

So how often should I clean these things?

I'm glad you asked. I'm not a home cleaning expert but I can show you my schedule and based off that you can create one that works for YOU.

Weekly:

The door knobs, light switches, and electronics

Biweekly/monthly:

The vents and underneath the furnitures.

Every 6 months:

The washer and dryer

That's it! Thank you for sticking it out with me today, I love each and every single one of you but most importantly, Jesus loves you. See ya next week!

Bible verse:

Psalm 19:14 - Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart

Be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.
